Room 01 born from the study of the relationship between the ruin itself and the morphology of the place that hosts it, from the subtle traces of human presence; from the materials and local building techniques that have always characterized the anonymous architecture of the extraction site.
The intervention is synthesized in a single sign: a large coffered roof that grafts into the ruin, giving it a newfound unity and classical dignity. A line, a platform in the landscape.
An almost primitive gesture, that covering oneself, to define a protected place in the endless and inhospitable wilderness of North-West Sardinia. From the dialogue between the existing walls of the ruin and the new cover, three new spaces for life are identified. Two of public character, fireplace room and banquet room and one of private character (dream room) accessible only by reservation. The intimacy of the spaces, open or closed, follows the signs and degradation of the ruin itself, without opposing and exposing itself. The most demolished areas have been deliberately public while the most constructed ones host the private and intimate area of the project.
