One of the most evocative bays in Sardinia for the particular beauty and variety of landscape, characterized by hills and cliffs of silver schists.
An authentic locality, a land of generations of miners and shepherds, the Argentiera continues to be a terminus, a thoughtful choice and not a casual route.
Located on the westernmost cape of Sardinia it is impossible to happen by chance. Until the sixties there was a mine for the extraction of lead and zinc, with most of the structures in wood and local stone. The mining activity ceased in 1963.
Currently all the plants, and most of the houses, built with local stones in a typical vernacular style, lie in a state of neglect.
